Sadly this is my last design team card for the Die Cut Dreams Challenge Blog. Suzie has decided to close it down---sniff, sniff. This was the first ever design team that I was on and have really enjoyed my time here with such a fabulous and talented group of gals from across the globe. I think I started in September, 2010 so it's been a little while now.

It's a gorgeous 0 Degrees here in Manitoba this morning. Thank goodness we have a break from that crazy cold snap. Too bad I'm feeling Yuk and can't really enjoy it. I did have some time during my "mini winter hibernation' lol! to go through a whole box full of images that I had either stamped or printed out. I love White on White, it's so classy looking and for this one I used an image from Hope Jacare from Stitchy Bear Stamps. I embossed it with Irridescent Ice embossing powder and used a little stickles around the sentiment--which is from Sentiments 4 You.

Well, it's Monday again and that means time for another new challenge at Die Cut Dreams.

Now this fortnight is a bit special for us here at Die Cut Dreams because not only do we have our beloved Boss Lady Susie Sugar back with us after her house move, the Die Cut Dreams shop has re-opened and the Challenge blog has also surpassed 700 followers - how cool is that??

So to celebrate we are having a BLOG HOP.

It's been a long time since I actually stamped an image, I've been so hooked on the convenience of digi's, now this image, I don't know where it came from, it might be a Stampin Up one, I love. I've gone a bit Sunflower crazy but this time of year it's really lovely to see, so I hope you like my creation. This challenge at Die Cut Dreams is to USE A CHARM on your creation. Homemade flower and a silhouette

Jess from Floppy Latte has so many really lovely Silhouette images I had to go with this one and put an asian spin on it.

I just learned how to make these homemade flowers (a lot of people probably already know how) but I'll put the instructions down below just in case. I dry embossed the black and white design paper and heat embossed the gold on the silhouette

You guess it: This weeks challenge at One Stitch at a Time is:

EMBOSSING

so get over to the Stitchy Bear store for your favorite Digi (although you don't have to use one to enter)

and let's see what embossing creation you come up with

HOMEMADE FLOWERS

1. punch out circle (scallop or plain) in cardstock

2. put a small "brad" hole in the center of each circle

3. For my flower I used 5 circles

4. Spray each circle with water, scrunch up into a ball

then unscrunch.

5. Put a brad through them all and shape how you like (I just kind of squished

it together a bit)

so easy right!!!

I never do this enough and always love the outcome. I've embossed the flowers and circle frame on this lovely flower image from Prairie Fairy Designs.

The circle frame I found online and there were all different colors, and I feel bad, but I can't remember who the generous donator was.

A couple of Grad's

Well two of my babies graduated this past week. Firstly my youngest son Garrett graduated Grade XII, he actually shaved and got a haircut just, just, I must say, prior to this day as him and his friends believe it is bad luck to shave or get your haircut during Stanley Cup Playoffs--and we all know how long the playoffs are---for heaven's sakes!! (who thinks up this stuff up? I guess if you're female you end up combing your legs--lol! Gross! Anyways, enough from "Mom" I'm just so relieved he cleaned up for his big day and we're all so very very proud of him.

Here's another one of him and his good friend for the second grad he attended that same week.

Now, here is my little angel, my grand daughter Alexa who graduated from Daycare and will be attending Kindergarten this September, it seriously was only yesterday that she was 3 Ibs in the palm of my hand--so scary how time flies. This daycare is so awesome, she has been there for three years and they had this adorable ceremony and cake and certificates, etc for all the little "Grads". She just cracks us up she's such a little performer and as you can see the only girl out of the bunch.

well, that's my busy week so far , am on holidays this week so I can catch up on my crafting and blogging, house cleaning, reading and relaxing

I'm kind of excited about this creation as it took me a while to conjure up and the requirements were to creation anything but a card and to use silhouettes. So I made a box and a tag. I printed Barb Jensen's silhouettes (Stitchy Bear Stamps)onto velum, sponged, distressed and added some lace and ribbon and of course the swirly bling and there you have it. This is the picture that will be in the Stitchy Bear Stamps ad in The Papercraft Essentials Magazine for their July issue.

It's a Red, White and Blue challenge for the next fortnight at Die Cut Dreams. I've used another Sassy Cheryl's image with lots of flowers. This fab sentiment is from Lynne at Sentiments 4 You. This one titled "Simple Gift of a Flower" sure makes me smile with her little flowers everywhere, reminds me of the ones my grand daughter picks for me.

This gorgeous image is a prairie Fairy Creation and can be found in the shop. The fairy has some new images this week, so watch out for them they should be in the store soon--they are adorable and fabulously unique. For this card I used one of Linda's Butterflies from her etsy shop and the sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You. My papers are from Creative Memories and I actually dug out a die cut and made some swirls for this one--if you saw what I was doing with ALL my craft stuff at the moment you'd understand the comment--I am STILL moving from one area to a room and my stuff is everywhere. It's actually a nightmare and if I close the door I can pretend that the organizational fairy has gone in and done it for me--ha! yes I'm living in a dream world. Anyways it'll get sorted eventually. This one I made especially for my youngest son's good friend who is graduating.
